چکیده

The solidification cooling curve itself as well its first derivative, and related temperatures, reported to the calculated equilibrium temperatures in stable metastable systems, are used predict characteristics of cast iron. Silicon, most representative iron element, inoculation, graphitizing metallurgical treatment, have a major influence on transition from liquid solid state. Six experimental programs performed, with Si content typically for non-alloyed (<3.0% Si), low (3.0–3.5% Si) medium alloyed (4.5–5.5% ductile irons, Si-content increasing, inoculation simultaneous effects. Silicon is an important influencing factor, but base minor elements also affect eutectic much more Fe-C-Si-Xi system (15–20 °C) than (5–10 °C), comparing their calculation based only effect (Fe-C-Si system). highest positive visible non-Si irons (2.5% Si): 9–15 °C reaction 3 4 times increased at end (37–47 °C). Graphite Phase Formation in Al Alloyed Ductile Irons

The influence of aluminum, within the range of 0.08 - 6.16 wt.%, on the microstructure and hardness of as-cast ductile cast iron has been studied. A number of irons of different composition have been made by green sand casting and gravity die casting of appropriate design to provide the experimental materials. It has been found that Al addition and higher cooling rates in permanent mould castin...

Fatigue Behaviour of Synthetic Nodular Cast Irons

A. Vaško, L. Trško, R. Konečná, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Žilina, Žilina, Slovak Republic The paper shows the influence of charge composition on microstructure, fatigue properties and failure micromechanisms of nodular cast irons. The additive of metallurgical silicon carbide (SiC) in analysed specimens increases the content of ferrite in the matrix, decreases the size of...
